Use the video and step-by-step drawing instructions below to learn how to draw Timmy Turner's fairy godmother Wanda from Nickelodeon's The Fairly OddParents. A new drawing tutorial is uploaded every week, so stay tooned!
Intro: Start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.
Step 1: When learning how to draw Wanda, start with a big circle near the top half of the page. It doesn’t have to be perfect. It’s just a guide for drawing Wanda’s head.
Step 2: Next, draw two intersecting lines across the circle, one vertical and one horizontal. Bend the lines a bit so that they contour to the shape. These will be construction lines that will help you place Wanda's facial features later on.
Step 3: Now draw guides for Wanda's eyes by drawing two smaller circles right on top of the horizontal construction line and on either side of the vertical line.
Step 4: Under the head, draw a rectangle with the top part missing. This will be a guide for drawing Wanda's body later on.
Step 5: Draw a line on either side of the body as guides for Wanda's arms. The line on the left should point up, while the line on the right should point a bit down. Draw a small circle at the end of the lines as guides for Wanda's hands.
Step 6: Below the rectangle, draw an arched line with the ends of it bent up as a guide for Wanda's legs.
Step 7: That’s it for the initial sketch! You have the basic shape of Timmy Turner's fairy godmother Wanda from Nickelodeon's The Fairly OddParents. Now go in and tighten your Wanda drawing. When learning how to draw Wanda from this point on, press harder with your pencil in order to get darker lines and a more defined sketch.
Step 8: Draw Wanda's nose and mouth as a series of zigzag and curved lines. Start where the two construction lines meet and draw a zigzag line for her nose and upper lip. Right below that line, draw two arcs that extend to the right side of the face to create Wanda's open mouth.
Step 9: Now draw Wanda's teeth as a series of straight lines at the top of the mouth. Draw a curved line on the left for the side of her mouth and another curved line at the bottom for the tongue.
Step 10: Now learn how to draw Wanda's eyes. Darken the circles for Wanda's eyes and draw a smaller circle inside each for the irises. Inside each iris, draw an even smaller circle for the pupils.
Step 11: On either side of each eye, draw three pointy lines for Wanda's long eyelashes. Above each eye, draw an even thicker long line for her eyebrows.
Step 12: Now learn how to draw Wanda's ears. On the right side of Wanda's head, draw a small arc similar to a backward letter C as a guide for the ear. Inside the ear draw a small spiral shape as the inner ear structure. Below the ear, draw a small circle for Wanda's earring.
Step 13: Use the main circle as a guide to draw Wanda's face. Follow the path of the circle as you darken the line. When you get to the lower right side of the circle, bend the line a little toward the earring.
Step 14: Now learn how to draw Wanda's hair. Draw the first part of Wanda's hair as a couple of lines on the upper right side of the circle. The lines move across the forehead to the right, then bend down and come to a point above the ear. Draw a small crown on the upper left side of the head. The crown is similar to a W shape with straight lines on the sides and on the bottom for the base.
Step 15: The second part of Wanda's hair consists of two swirls. Draw a big swirl about half the size of the original circle on the upper left side of the head. Below Wanda's ea,r draw another swirl that's about the size of the ear.
Step 16: Draw the hand on the right side by using the initial shapes as guides. Thicken up Wanda's arm and draw a bell-like shape at the top for her sleeve. Use the circle as a guide to create a fist using a few curved lines for the fingers.
Step 17: Draw a couple of straight lines at the top and bottom of the fist as the base of Wanda's wand. At the top end of the wand's base, draw a small star.
Step 18: Draw Wanda's torso right below her head. Follow the path of the initial rectangle as you darken the lines to create her body.
Step 19: Now learn how to draw Wanda's other hand. Draw the hand on the left by using the initial line as a guide. Thicken up the line to create Wanda's arm, then draw four curved lines around the small circle for her fingers and thumb.
Step 20: Use the shape at the bottom as a guide to draw Wanda's legs. Simply follow the basic path of the line as you thicken up the legs, and add a curve at the ends for the feet.
Step 21: Draw a curved line on the right side with a line in the middle for Wanda's wing. Wanda's other wing is on the other side and is not visible.
Step 22: That’s it! You now have a nice sketch of Timmy Turner's fairy godmother Wanda from Nickelodeon's The Fairly OddParents. You can stop at this quick drawing for a rough, sketchy look, or continue to the step below to go for a more finished look.
Step 23: For a more finished, inked look, carefully draw over the final sketch lines with a pen or marker. Don't ink Wanda's wing if you plan on coloring your drawing. Wait for any ink to dry, and then erase your pencil marks. You now have a finished inked drawing of Wanda from Nickelodeon's The Fairly OddParents! You can stop here or go to the final step to complete your Wanda drawing in its entirety.
Final Step: For a completely finished Wanda drawing, you have to color it. You can use anything you want: markers, color pencils or even crayons! Color her hair and eyes pink. Add the pink lips on the mouth too. Her crown, her shirt and the star on the wand are yellow. Her legs and the base of the wand are black. Re-draw her wing using light blue. Her skin is peach. If you don’t have peach, improvise and use light orange or light brown. That’s it! You now have a completed drawing of a Timmy Turner's fairy godmother Wanda from the Fairly OddParents.
