Use the video and step-by-step drawing instructions below to learn how to draw Darth Vader from Star Wars. A new cartoon drawing tutorial is uploaded every week, so stay tooned!
Intro: Start drawing Darth Vader with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don't press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.
Step 1: To draw Darth Vader from Star Wars, start with a tall oval in the middle of the paper. This will be the basic shape for Darth Vader's head.
Step 2: Next, draw a vertical line down the middle of the head shape. Draw a horizontal line that intersects the vertical one in the middle. Draw one last horizontal line right in the middle of the horizontal construction line and the bottom of the oval. These will be construction lines that will help you place Darth Vader's features later on.
Step 3: Draw two lines placed in between the two horizontal construction lines on either side of the vertical construction line. This rectangle shape is Darth Vader's "nose." Now draw an arc inside his nose, at the bottom. Draw three horizontal lines near the top of his nose.
Step 4: Starting on the top left corner of Darth Vader's nose, draw a C-shaped curve that ends at the third line inside his nose. It will look like an oval. Draw another curve on the other side of his nose. These will be Darth Vader's "eyes."
Step 5: Now draw Darth Vader's mouth. It's essentially a triangle shape without the top tip. It starts at the bottom left corner of his nose and extends to the left edge of the main oval. Draw the bottom of the triangle so it extends to the right edge of the main oval, and the right side of the triangle goes back up to the right corner of his nose.
