Use the video and step-by-step drawing instructions below to learn how to draw Disney's Donald Duck. A new cartoon drawing tutorial is uploaded every week, so stay tooned!
Intro: Start drawing Donald Duck with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don't press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.
Step 1: To draw Donald Duck, start off with a big circle in the middle of the page. This will be the basic shape for Donald's head.
Step 2: Next draw two intersecting lines across the circle. When drawing the lines, bend them so that they follow the contour shape of a sphere. Draw the horizontal line near the bottom of the sphere, and draw the vertical one slightly to the left of the middle. These will be construction lines that will help you place Donald Duck's features later on.
Step 3: Draw a small oval on top of the horizontal construction line just to the left of the vertical construction line. This will be Donald Duck's left eye. Draw another larger oval on the right side of the vertical construction. This will be the right eye.
Step 4: To draw Donald Duck's beak, first draw an arc in between his eyes. Draw this arc to connect the bottoms of his eyes. Starting from the lower left side of the left eye, draw a C shape that ends at the main circle. Do the same on the other side, starting from the lower right side of the right eye draw a backward C shape that ends on top of the horizontal construction line.
Step 5: From the point at which the backward C shape ends, draw a wide U that extends to the bottom left side of the main circle. Draw a similar shape within this one to indicate the inside of his mouth. This will be the bottom beak of this Disney cartoon character.
