The written step-by-step video tutorial:
Intro: Start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.
Step 1: Begin your Statue of Liberty drawing with two small half-circles for the eyes. The eye shape is basically a small arc with a line at the bottom. Don't draw the Statue of Liberty's eyes too far apart.
Step 2: Between the eyes, closer to the left eye, draw an angled line for the nose. The shape of the Statue of Liberty's nose should be similar to the letter L. Under the nose, draw a short line for the mouth. Under the mouth, draw a shorter line for the lip.
Step 3: Below the Statue of Liberty's face, draw a big, curved line for the bottom part of the head. This curved line should be similar to a big letter U. On the right side, draw a small, J-shaped line for the ear. At the top, draw three curved lines for the front part of the hair.
Step 4: At the top, draw a curved line for the top part of the head. This line should start to the left of the eyes and end to the right of the ear. At the top of the head, draw another curved line for the base of the Statue of Liberty's crown. The sides of this curved line should be flat.
Step 5: At the top, draw seven spikes for the rays on the Statue of Liberty's crown. The biggest spike should be in the middle, and the side spikes should be smaller because of perspective. The spikes should also tilt sideways the farther to the sides they are. The spikes on the right should be a bit bigger than the spikes on the left. The spikes are similar to a long letter V. You can turn your paper to make it easier to draw the Statue of Liberty's crown spikes.
