Use the video and step-by-step drawing instructions below to learn how to draw Anais Watterson from Cartoon Network's The Amazing World of Gumball. A new drawing tutorial is uploaded every week, so stay tooned!
Intro: When learning how to draw Anais, start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.
Step 1: Start by drawing an oval near the middle of the page. It doesn’t have to be perfect. It’s just a guide for drawing Anais' head.
Step 2: Next, draw two intersecting lines across the oval, one vertical and one horizontal. The vertical line should be right across the middle of the oval, while the horizontal line should be a bit closer to the bottom. These will be construction lines that will help you when learning how to draw Anais' facial features later on.
Step 3: Now draw guides for Anais' eyes by drawing two tall arcs right above the horizontal construction line and on either side of the vertical line. The sides of the oval should graze the vertical construction line.
Step 4: Under the horizontal construction line, draw a smaller, upside-down arc similar to the letter U as a guide for when you learn how to draw Anais' mouth later on. Most of this arc is on the right side of the vertical construction line.
Step 5: On top of Anais' head, draw two long, curved lines as guides for her ears. Pay attention to the size of the guides. If you draw them too small or too big, Anais will end up with weird-sized ears.
