Use the video and step-by-step drawing instructions below to learn how to draw Master Yoda, Jedi Knight, from Star Wars. A new drawing tutorial is uploaded every week, so stay tooned!
Intro: Start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.
Step 1: Start by drawing a wide circle on the middle of the page. It doesn’t need to be perfect; it’s only a guide for Master Yoda’s head.
Step 2: Inside the oval draw two intersecting lines, one vertical and one horizontal. Bend the lines to follow the shape of the circle. Below the horizontal construction line, draw a smaller line. These will be construction lines that will help you place Yoda’s features later on.
Step 3: Draw two circles that sit on top of the horizontal construction line and on either side of the vertical line for Yoda’s eyes.
Step 4: Now draw a smaller circle between the eyes, still on top of the vertical horizontal line for Yoda’s nose. On either side of his head draw an angled line similar to a triangle for his ears. The bottom of the ear shape should be where the horizontal construction line is, and the top should be level to his eyes. Draw the left ear slightly lower than the right for a little asymmetry.
Step 5: That’s it for the initial sketch! You have the basic Yoda shape, so now go in and tighten your drawing. From this point on, press harder with your pencil in order to get darker lines and a more defined sketch.
