Intro: Start off learning how to draw this cartoon by using a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.
Step 1: Start by drawing an oval near the middle of the page. It doesn’t have to be perfect. It’s just a guide for drawing Smurfette’s head later on.
Step 2: Next, draw two intersecting lines across the oval, one vertical and one horizontal. Bend the vertical line a bit so that it contours to the shape. The horizontal line doesn't bend as much. These will be construction lines that will help you place Smurfette's facial features later on.
Step 3: Draw a small oval on the right side of the vertical construction line and right on top of the horizontal construction line. This will be a guide for Smurfette's nose.
Step 4: Now draw guides for Smurfette's eyes by drawing two longer ovals right above the horizontal construction line and on either side of the vertical line. The bottom part of the oval on the right is hiding behind this Smurf's nose.
Step 5: Under the horizontal construction line and on the left side of the vertical construction line, draw a small shape similar to the letter D on its side as a guide for Smurfette's mouth.
Step 6: Under Smurfette's head, draw another oval similar in shape to the first oval but about half the size as a guide for the first part of this Smurf's body. Then draw a two lines on the sides that connect to Smurfette's head for the second part of the guide. When you draw the oval, don't draw it to low under the head or the body will turn out too long.
Step 7: Draw a line on either side of Smurfette's body as guides for drawing her arms later on. The line on the right should curve up, while the line on the right should point down and be angled near the middle. Draw a small circle at the end of each line as guides for learning how to draw Smurfette's hands later on. Draw four small lines at the top of the circle on the right as a guide for her fingers.
Step 8: Below Smurfette's body, draw two curved lines as guides for drawing her legs. The line on the left is shorter and bends at the top. At the end the line on the left, draw a big oval as a guide for her foot kicking back slightly. Then draw a smaller circle at the end of the other line as a guide for her other foot. The left side of the circle should be hiding behind the oval of the first foot.
Step 9: That’s it for the initial sketch! You have the basic shape of Smurfette from The Smurfs cartoon. Now go in and tighten your drawing. From this point on, press harder with your pencil in order to get darker lines and a more defined sketch.
Step 10: Darken the side of the original oval to create the side of Smurfette's face. Use the initial oval inside the head as a guide to draw her nose. Bend the shape of the nose up a bit as you darken it and draw a tiny line at the bottom for her nostril.
Step 11: Now learn how to draw Smurfette's eyes. Darken the ovals for her eyes except for the middle portion. Draw a curved line at the top of each oval for her eyelids. At the outer edge of each eyelid, draw three small, curved lines for her eyelashes. Inside each eye, draw a small oval for this Smurf's pupils and shade it in.
Step 12: Now learn how to draw Smurfette's mouth. Use the initial D shape as a guide to draw it. Make the top line longer and have it curl up more. Inside the Smurf's mouth, draw a small curved line for her tongue.
Step 13: Now learn how to draw Smurfette's arms. Draw the arm on the left side by using the initial shapes as guides. Follow the basic path of the guide as you thicken up the shape to create the bent arm. Draw a circle at the top for her shoulder and dress strap. Use the circle as a guide to draw her hand. Draw a few curved lines on the lower left side for her this female Smurf's folded back fingers.
Step 14: Now learn how to draw Smurfette's hair. Start drawing the hair inside the main oval. The top part curves over her eyes, and the part on the left curves down to her shoulder. The top part of her hair is a tall arc that starts on the top right side of Smurfette's head and ends above her head. The back of her hair is actually on the left side, and it arches out, then in toward the hand on the left.
Step 15: Now learn how to draw Smurfette's hat. The hat is composed of mainly of different-sized curved lines. First draw the base or bottom part of the girl Smurf's hat that connects the top of her hair with the side. Then draw a long arc that curves toward the top of her hair, and then comes back down to form the bent point of the hat. Finally draw a few small lines under the point of the hat to connect it to the top of Smurfette's hair.
Step 16: Now learn how to draw Smurfette's dress. Use the initial shapes under Smurfette's head as guides to draw her dress and darken the lines of the guide on the sides. When you draw the bottom of this girl Smurf's dress, follow the basic path of the oval as you draw a few curved lines to indicate the frills and wakes of the cloth on the dress.
Step 17: Draw the detail inside Smurfette's dress by using a few simple shapes. Draw a U-shaped arc under her head as the top of the dress. Then draw drop-like shapes at the bottom of the dress for the pattern.
Step 18: Use the initial lines and circle as guides to draw Smurfette's arm on the right. Follow the path of the line and widen the shape to create the female Smurf's arm. Draw Smurfette's hand and arms by thickening up those guide lines as well.
Step 19: Draw a few curved lines inside the shape of the hair as extra detail. Draw a couple of lines on the right side behind the arm to indicate the right side of the hair.
Step 20: Now learn how to draw Smurfette's legs and feet. Follow the basic path of the line on the bottom left as you thicken it to create her slightly bent leg. At the end, use the oval as a guide to draw her big, clunky shoe and shoe opening. Draw a small square-like shape on the left of the female Smurf's shoe for the heel.
Step 21: Draw Smurfette's other leg and shoe the same way. Thicken up the guide line for the leg, then use the circle as a guide to draw the shoe and shoe opening. Don't add draw Smurfette's other heel because this foot is facing front.
Step 22: That’s it! You now have a nice sketch of Smurfette from The Smurf's cartoon. You can stop at this quick drawing for a rough, sketchy look, or continue to the step below to go for a more finished look.
Step 23: For a more finished, inked look, carefully draw over the final sketch lines with a pen or marker. Wait for any ink to dry, and then erase your pencil marks. You now have a finished inked drawing of Smurfette from The Smurfs cartoon! You can stop here or go to the final step to complete your Smurfette drawing in its entirety.
Final Step: For a completely finished Smurfette drawing, you have to color it. You can use anything you want: markers, color pencils or even crayons! She is a blonde, so color her hair yellow. Her skin is light blue. Her tongue is red, and the inside of her mouth is black. Leave her dress and shoes blank since they are white. That’s it! You have now learned how to draw Smurfette from the Smurfs cartoon.
