Intro: Start by drawing Frankie Stein with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.

 

Step 1: Start by drawing a circle near the top half of the page. This will be a guide for the top part of Frankie Stein's head. The circle doesn’t have to be perfect. It’s just a guide.

 

Step 2: Under the circle, draw an angled line for the lower part of Frankie Stein's head, or the jaw and chin. The line comes to a slight point on the lower left side. Both of the shapes combined form the guide for Frankie Stein's head.

 

Step 3: Draw two long, curved lines below the head as guides for Frankie Stein's neck and shoulders. Don't draw the lines too far apart or she'll end up with broad shoulders. Frankie Stein's neck should be skinny and long.

 

Step 4: Next, draw two intersecting lines across the entire head shape, one vertical and one horizontal. Bend the lines a bit so that they contour to the shape of the head. These will be construction lines that will help you when learning how to draw Frankie Stein's facial features later on.

 

Step 5: Draw two shapes as guides for Frankie Stein's eyes. Draw them sitting on top of the horizontal construction line and on either side of the vertical construction line. The shape of the eyes is similar to little footballs. Draw Frankie Stein's eye on the left side should a bit smaller because of the perspective.

Step 6: At the bottom of the main circle, right on top of the vertical construction line, draw a small oval as a guide for Frankie Stein's pouty mouth.

 

Step 7: Now draw the guides for Frankie Stein's hair. First draw a long, curved line that starts on the upper left side of the head and curves over the head all the way to the right side next to the right shoulder. Then draw a shorter, straighter line on the left side of Frankie Stein's head for the other side of the hair.

 

Step 8: That’s it for the initial sketch! You have the basic Frankie Stein shape. Now go in and tighten your drawing. When learning how to draw Frankie Stein from this point on, press harder with your pencil in order to get darker lines and a more defined sketch.

 

Step 9: Tighten the outer shape of Frankie Stein's eyes by making the lines thicker and darker. Draw about five pointy, curved spikes above each eye for the upper eyelids and three shorter spikes under each eye for the lower eyelids.

 

Step 10: Inside each eye, draw a couple of lines for Frankie Stein's irises. Inside each iris, draw tiny circle and a triangle-like shape on the side to represent glare. Draw a bigger circle in the middle of the iris and shade it in for Frankie Stein's pupils.

Step 11: On either side of the vertical construction line and above each eye, draw a long, curved shape for Frankie Stein's eyebrows. The eyebrow on the left should be a bit shorter because of the perspective of her slightly turned head.

 

Step 12: Now learn how to draw Frankie Stein's nose. In the small area between the horizontal construction line and the bottom of the main circle, draw her tiny nose. The nose basically consists of a couple of small, curved lines for the front and sides of the nose and even smaller, curved lines for the nostrils.

 

Step 13: Draw Frankie Stein's lips under her nose using the small oval as a guide. First draw the upper lip as a set of wavy lines. The lines should meet at a curved point on the sides to give Frankie a slight smile. Then draw the lower lip as a set U-shaped curved lines.

 

Step 14: Now learn how to draw Frankie Stein's hair. Her hair is a bit tricky, so it's divided into three parts. First use the initial lines around her head as guides to draw the outer structure of the hair. Darken the lines and make the upper left side curved outward more. Draw a point above her eyebrows to give her hairline a widow's peak. You will finish learning how to draw Frankie Stein's hair in the later steps.

 

Step 15: Draw Frankie Stein's earrings on the lower sides of her head. The earrings are little skulls with bows. Because of Frankie's hair and face, they won't be completely visible, so just draw a portion of them. Give the skulls big eyes and little noses.

Step 16: Use the initial shapes as guides to draw Frankie Stein's face. Follow the basic path of the guides and dip the line in toward the eye a little to create the cheekbone. Below the eye on the left side, draw a small line covered by two rectangular shapes for her stitches. On top of Frankie Stein's head, draw a couple of lines to create her hair clip.

 

Step 17: Use the curved lines under Frankie Stein's head as guides to draw her neck. Draw the bolts on the sides of her neck. The head of the bolts are hexagonal in shape. Inside her neck and along the line of the bolts, draw a curved line  covered by three rectangular shapes. This will create the stitches on Frankie Stein's neck.

 

Step 18: Under Frankie's neck, draw her shirt collar as two triangle-like shapes. Draw Frankie Stein's tie under the collar. The tie consists of a big angled line for the knot and a couple of small lines for the top of the tie.

 

Step 19: Darken the lines that make up Frankie Stein's shoulder. Around each shoulder draw, a big semi-circle for the shirt's puffy sleeves. Draw a few circles within the shape of the tie to give a polka dot pattern.

 

Step 20: Now continue learning how to draw Frankie Stein's hair. The detail consists of a few curved lines. A couple of lines in the middle have a slight angle to them to give them the appearance of bolts of electricity.

Step 21: Add more curved lines to the sides of Frankie Stein's hair. The lines should follow the basic overall shape of the hair. Draw a few lines with angles in them for the bolts-of-electricity look.

 

Step 22: That’s it! You now have a nice sketch of Frankie Stein from Monsters High. You can stop at this quick drawing for a rough, sketchy look or go for a more finished look by continuing to the step below.

 

Step 23: For a more finished, inked look, carefully draw over the final sketch lines with a pen or marker. Wait for the ink to dry, and then get rid of every pencil mark with an eraser. You now have a finished inked drawing of Frankie Stein! You can stop here or go to the final step to complete your Frankie drawing.

 

Final Step: For a completely finished Frankie Stein drawing, you have to color it. You can use markers, color pencils or even crayons! Her hair is striped in black and white, so alternate between a black streak and a blank streak. Her skin is green, and the section above her eye is pink. The eye on the left is blue, and the one on the right is green. Frankie Stein's lips are red, and her earrings are light blue. Her sleeves, bolts, stitches and clip on her hair are gray, and her tie is black. That’s it! You now have a completed drawing of Frankie Stein from Monster High.
