Intro: Start drawing Aladdin with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard with your pencil. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.

 

Step 1: To draw Aladdin, start with an egg shape that is pointing down in the middle of the page. Right below it, draw a small curved line and a longer line on the lower right side of it. These will be the basic shapes for Aladdin’s head and neck.

 

Step 2: Next, draw a vertical line on the left side of the egg shape and a horizontal line near the middle. The lines should curve and follow the contour shape of the egg. These lines you are drawing will be construction lines that will help you place Aladdin’s features later on.

 

Step 3: Sketch in Aladdin’s eyes by drawing two small circles that sit on top of the horizontal construction line. The eye on the left should graze the vertical construction line. Draw the right eye so it is near the middle of the right side Aladdin's head.

 

Step 4: Draw a wide curve above each eye for Aladdin's eyebrows and sketch in his ear. Aladdin's ear is a backward C shape that begins at the horizontal construction line, grazes the right edge of the head and ends below the horizontal construction line.

 

Step 5: Aladdin’s nose begins where the construction lines meet. It curves to the left slightly and ends touching the vertical construction line again. Draw Aladdin's mouth as a D shape on its side below the nose.

Step 6: Now draw basic guides for Aladdin’s hair. They are just a series of curves around his head. Draw one of the curves beginning on the left side of the horizontal construction line, make it come out to the left and end it on the top right side of Aladdin's head. The other curve begins where the last one left off, and it ends on the bottom of Aladdin's neck. Draw the last curve outside of the left side of Aladdin's head below the first curve.

 

Step 7: That's it for the initial sketch of Aladdin! You have drawn the basic Aladdin shape, so now go in and tighten your drawing. From this point on, press harder with your pencil in order to get darker lines and a more defined sketch.

 

Step 8: Start by giving Aladdin's head more shape by drawing a line that begins above his eyebrow. Dip the line in near Aladdin's eye, draw it down to his chin, curve it up to the left of the main head shape and end it below his ear.

 

Step 9: Darken in the shape of Aladdin’s eyes and draw the lines thicker on top to simulate eyelashes. Inside each eye, draw two small circles inside each other to represent Aladdin's irises and pupils. Draw an even smaller one on the corner of each to represent glare.

 

Step 10: Aladdin has thick eyebrows, so use the guides to draw them in extra thick and give them a more angular shape.

Step 11: Darken in Aladdin’s nose and extend the top so it touches his left eyebrow. Draw in two curves that look like parentheses on either side of the lower part of Aladdin's nose and two smaller curves on the bottom for his nostrils.

 

Step 12: Darken in Aladdin’s mouth and make it wider. Draw a small wide curve underneath to represent his lower lip.

 

Step 13: Aladdin has messy hair, which can be tricky, so it’s broken down in three parts. Using the guide, draw the top part first using a series of curves. The left side of Aladdin's should extend out further left. Give Aladdin a nice big clump of hair in the middle of his head that ends with a point between his eyebrows.

 

Step 14: Draw the right side of Aladdin's hair by using the guides again and give him a few stray clumps near the bottom. Draw a V shape in between the right eyebrow and his ear to represent Aladdin's sideburn.

 

Step 15: Continue drawing the bottom of Aladdin’s hair giving him more stray clumps on the left and right sides. Make the right side curve in to overlap his neck.

Step 16: Darken in the left side of Aladdin’s neck and his ear. Draw a couple of lines within his ear to give it structure.

 

Step 17: Draw in a small can shape on the top right of Aladdin's hair to represent his hat.

 

Step 18: That’s it! You now have a nice sketch of Aladdin. You can stop at this quick drawing for a rough, sketchy look or go for a more finished look by continuing to the step below.

 

Step 19: For a more finished, inked look, carefully go over the final sketch lines with a pen or marker. Wait for the ink to dry, and then get rid of every pencil mark with an eraser. You now have a finished inked drawing of Aladdin! You can stop here or go to the final step to complete your Aladdin drawing.

 

Final Step: For a completely finished Aladdin drawing, you have to color it. You can use markers, color pencils or even crayons! Color Aladdin’s hair black and his hat a dark red. Aladdin's skin is a dark peach color, but if you don’t have peach, improvise and use yellow-orange or light brown. Experiment! That’s it! You now have a completed drawing of Aladdin.
