Intro: Start drawing Jafar with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don't press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.

 

Step 1: To draw Jafar, start by drawing a small circle in the middle of the page. This will be the shape for the top of Jafar's head. Make sure to draw this shape small to make room for his turban.

 

Step 2: Next, draw two intersecting lines on the circle, one vertical and one horizontal. When drawing the lines, curve them slightly to follow the contour of the sphere. These will be construction lines that will help you place Jafar's features later on.

 

Step 3: Now draw a U-shaped curve under the circle. This will be Jafar's jaw.

 

Step 4: Now draw a big egg-shaped oval that starts at the bottom of the small circle and encompasses it. This will be Jafar's turban. Draw an even bigger U-shaped curve below his jawline, which will be his a guide for his neck.

 

Step 5: Inside the small circle, draw two football-shaped ovals on either side of the vertical construction line for Jafar's eyes.

Step 6: On the bottom part of the small circle where the vertical line ends, draw a V shape to represent Jafar's nose. Inside the U shape of his jaw, draw a horizontal line that slightly curves downward for his mouth.

 

Step 7: That's it for the initial sketch of Jafar, the villain from Disney's Aladdin! You have the basic Jafar shape, so now go in and tighten your drawing. From this point on, press harder with your pencil in order to get darker lines and a more defined sketch.

 

Step 8: Tighten the shape of cartoon villain's nose by drawing a line starting where the vertical and horizontal construction lines meet and follow the V shape of his nose. Draw another C shape on the side of it to finish the nose.

 

Step 9: Thicken the lines of the football shapes that make Jafar's eyes and extend the outer points a bit for his eyelashes. Draw tall curves above each of Jafar's eyes for his eyelids and draw a smaller curve below each eye for the bags under his eyes.

 

Step 10: Draw two thick curves above each eye for Jafar's eyebrows. The right eyebrow should be narrower because of the perspective of Jafar's face.

Step 11: Use the horizontal line inside the jaw shape as a guide to draw Jafar's mouth. Draw it so it looks like a very wide and flat letter M. Draw his moustache as two thin lines that come down from his nose and wrap around his mouth.

 

Step 12: Draw Jafar's chin and beard as a V shape that starts at the sides of his mouth. His beard is "sooo twisted," so draw a thick zigzag shape for it that ends in a curl.

 

Step 13: Tighten in the shape of Jafar's face. First draw a line that connects his eyebrows, then draw two curves below his eyes for cheekbones and a couple of smile lines (or in Jafar's case frown lines) that connect from his nose to the top of his moustache.

 

Step 14: Using a series of lines, draw in Jafar's turban. It's essentially three lines that come down from the sides of his head and curl up at the end because the cloth rests on his shoulders.

 

Step 15: Draw in the neck portion of Jafar as a V shape below his beard. Draw a line in the middle to represent a fold in the cloth.

Step 16: Now draw the turban on Jafar's head. Start with an oval on top of his forehead to represent the jewel he has. Draw a line on the left that surrounds the jewel. To draw Jafar's feather, simply draw a long diamond shape above the jewel, a line that intersects it and a few smaller lines near the top.

 

Step 17: Using the shape of Jafar's turban as a guide, darken in the shape of his turban and draw it so it bulges a little on the sides. Draw two curved lines on either side of his jewel to finish up his turban.

 

Step 18: That's it! You now have a nice sketch of Jafar. You can stop at this quick drawing for a rough, sketchy look or go for a more finished look by continuing to the step below.

 

Step 19: For a more finished, inked look, carefully draw over the final sketch lines with a pen or marker. Wait for the ink to dry, and then get rid of every pencil mark with an eraser. You now have a finished inked drawing of Jafar! You can stop here or go to the final step to complete your Jafar drawing.

 

Final Step: For a completely finished Jafar drawing, you have to color it. You can use markers, color pencils or even crayons! Color the top of Jafar's turban black. The curved lines on Jafar's turban is yellow along with the piece surrounding the jewel. The jewel itself is red, but leave a portion of it uncolored to represent glare. Jafar's feather is also red. The cloth coming down on the sides of the turban are a darker red. The neck part of Jafar's outfit is cream, but you can use light brown if you don't have cream. Jafar's eyelids and bags under his eyes are a light violet. His face is peach, but if you don't have peach, improvise again and use light orange or pink, anything that works. That's it! You now have a completed drawing of Jafar, the villain from Disney's Aladdin.
