Intro: Start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.

Step 1: Start with a circle near the middle of the page. It doesn’t have to be perfect. It’s just a guide for the top part Hercules's head.

Step 2: Draw a small V-shaped arc under the head as a guide for Hercules's jaw and chin. The left side of the arc should angle a bit to create the jaw. These combined two shapes make the guide for Hercules's head.

Step 3: Next, draw two intersecting lines across the entire head, one vertical and one horizontal. Bend the lines a bit so that they contour to the shape of the head. These will be construction lines that will help you place Hercules's facial features later on.

Step 4: Draw two small shapes similar to half-circles as guides for Hercules's eyes. Draw them sitting on top of the horizontal construction line and on either side of the vertical construction line. The shape on the right should be a bit smaller because of perspective.

Step 5: On the left side of the head draw a big C-shaped curved line as a guide for the ear. Hercules has big ears, so don't draw this shape too small.

Step 6: Draw a couple of long curved lines on top of the head as guides for Hercules's hair. The line on the left starts on top of the ear, then curves up and to the right and ends on top of the head. The other curved line is shorter and should be placed on top of the head but to the right.

Step 7: Under the head, draw two curved lines as guides for Hercules's neck. The line on the right should be shorter because of the perspective.

Step 8: That’s it for the initial sketch! You have the basic Hercules shape. Now go in and tighten your drawing. From this point on, press harder with your pencil in order to get darker lines and a more defined sketch.

Step 9: Draw Hercules's nose by using the construction lines as guides. The bridge of the nose is a long line that overlaps the eye on the right. It curves to the left on the bottom by the lower edge of the main circle. The other line for the bridge of the nose is on the left and should have more of a diagonal orientation. Add a small curved line on the lower left side for Hercules's nostril.

Step 10: Draw Hercules's eyes by using the initial half-circle shapes as guides. Follow the basic path of the guides but make the top edge thicker for the eyelashes. Draw an extra curved line above each eye for the eyelids.

Step 11: Inside each of Hercules's eyes, draw a small circle for the irises. Inside each iris, in the middle, draw a big dot for the pupils and a tiny circle off to the side to represent glare.

Step 12: Above each eye, draw a thick shape for Hercules's eyebrows. The shapes should curve and end in points. The eyebrow on the right should be a little smaller because of perspective.

Step 13: Draw Hercules's upper lip using a series of curved lines. The bottom part of the top lip is a long line just outside the bottom edge of the main circle. Add a smaller curved line on the left side for the smile line. The top part of the lip consists of a wavy line.

Step 14: Draw Hercules's open mouth as a curved line underneath. Draw a couple of lines within the shape for the teeth. Below the mouth, draw a small curved line that represents the lower lip.

Step 15: Use the C-shaped line on the left as a guide to draw Hercules's ear. Follow the basic path of the guide but make the shape thicker at the top and thinner at the bottom. Add a curved line within the shape of the ear to represent the inner structure.

Step 16: Use the initial shapes as guides to draw Hercules's face. Follow the basic path of the guides but make the line on the right come in toward the eye a bit more as you darken it to create the cheekbone. Add an extra curved line at the bottom where the chin is to keep with the style of the character.

Step 17: Hercules's hair is a bit tricky, so it's divided into a few parts. First draw a long wavy V-shaped line above the eyebrow on the left for the front part of the hair. Then use the initial shape on top of the head as a guide to draw the top part of the hair. Follow the shape of the guide but make the left side of the line angle more.

Step 18: Now use the guide on the right to draw the other side of Hercules's hair. Darken the guide and add an extra line inside that has a similar shape for extra detail.

Step 19: Draw two curved horizontal lines above the eyebrows for Hercules's headband. Notice that the the band goes behind the wavy clump of hair above the left eyebrow.

Step 20: Add a couple of curved lines above the headband on the left for extra detail on Hercules's hair. Draw a long wavy line to the left of the ear for the back of the hair and a shorter line to the right of the ear for the side burn.

Step 21: Darken the initial lines to create Hercules's thick neck. Add a few more wavy lines to the left of the neck as extra detail on the hair.

Step 22: That’s it! You now have a nice sketch of Hercules. You can stop at this quick drawing for a rough, sketchy look, or continue to the step below to go for a more finished look.

Step 23: For a more finished, inked look, carefully draw over the final sketch lines with a pen or marker. Wait for the ink to dry, and then erase all of the pencil marks. You now have a finished inked drawing of Hercules! You can stop here or go to the final step to complete your Hercules drawing in its entirety.

Final Step: For a completely finished Hercules drawing, you have to color it. You can use anything you want: markers, color pencils or even crayons! Color the hair and eyebrows orange. The headband is red, and his eyes are blue. His skin is peach. If you don't have peach, improvise and use yellow-orange or light brown. That’s it! You now have a completed drawing of Hercules from Walt Disney's Hercules.
