To draw Omega step by step, follow along with the video tutorial below and pause the video after each step to go at your own pace. You may find it easier to follow the step-by-step drawings below. The new lines in each step are shown in red, and each step is explained in the text below the photo, so you'll know exactly what to draw in each step. You may want to open the video in a new tab and use both drawing methods! Take your time and draw at your own pace.

The written step-by-step video tutorial:

 

Intro: Start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.

 

 

Step 1: Draw a small circle near the top of the page as a guide for Omega's head. Sketch lightly at first so that it's easy to erase if you make a mistake. If you're struggling to draw the circle, trace the outer rim of a coin, a lid or any other object with a circular edge. Draw a small U- shaped arc under the head as a guide for the jaw and chin.

 

Step 2: Inside the head, draw two intersecting lines as guides to help you place Omega's facial features later. Under the head, draw two short lines as guides for the neck.

Step 3: Draw a big oval under the head as a guide for the chest. First make four small marks to indicate the oval's height and width. Then connect the marks using curved lines. Pay close attention to the size of the chest in relation to Omega's head. Don't make the oval too big.

Step 4: Draw two vertical lines under the oval, one on each side, as guides for the midsection. Connect the lines at the bottom using a horizontal line to complete the guide for Omega's midsection.

 

Step 5: Under the midsection, draw two short lines on either side as a guide for the lower torso. Finish the guide by drawing a V-shaped line at the bottom.

Step 6: On the top, right side of the torso, draw a circle as a guide for the shoulder. Under the circle, draw a U-shaped line as a guide for the bicep portion of Omega's arm.

 

Step 7: Under the bicep, draw a smaller U-shaped line as a guide for Omega's forearm. Under the forearm, draw a small square-like shape as a guide for the wrist. At the bottom, draw a small circle as guide for the fist.

Step 8: On the left side, draw similar shapes as guides for Omega's other arm. They should be partly blocked by the torso.

Step 9: Below the bicep, draw two lines that curve toward the left as guides for the forearm. At the end, draw a small circle as a guide for Omega's fist.

 

Step 10: Under the torso, on the right side, draw two long, curved lines as a guide for the top part of Omega's leg. At the bottom of the lines, draw a small circle as a guide for the knee.

Step 11: Under the knee, draw a smaller U- shaped line as a guide for Omega's calf muscle. Under the calf muscle, draw two vertical lines as a guide for the shin section of the leg. At the bottom, draw a rectangle- like shape as a guide for the foot pointing forward.

 

Step 12: On the left side, draw a big U-shaped line as a guide for the top part of the second leg. Under the U- shaped line, draw a small circular shape as a guide for Omega's knee.

Step 13: Under the knee, draw a small, U-shaped line as a guide for the calf section of the leg. Under the calf muscle, draw two short, vertical lines for the lower shin section of Omega's leg. At the bottom, draw a triangle- like shape as a guide for the foot pointing to the left.

That's it for the guides! For the next steps, use darker lines for a more defined drawing.

 

Step 14: Draw the helmet visor inside the head, using the construction lines as guides. First lightly sketch a wide v-shaped line on top of the horizontal construction line. Add another V- shaped line on top to make the visor thick. Now darken the line at the bottom and make sure to create a couple of notches along the way. The notches on the visor are basically little indentations along the bottom line. The length of the visor should span the width of Omega's head.

Step 15: Use the initial circle as a guide to draw the top part of the face mask. First draw a short, vertical line on either side of the visor. Then at the top, draw a couple of horn-like shapes using a few angled lines. Now connect the "horns" in the middle using a few more angled lines. Now make the outer edges of the "horns" longer so that they stretch in toward Omega's visor.

 

Step 16: Use the initial U-shaped line as a guide to draw the lower part of Omega's face mask. Draw a couple of angled lines under the visor to create sort of cheekbones. Then darken the bottom edge and make it angled. Draw a line across the middle along the path of the vertical construction line.

Step 17: Use the remaining lines as guides to draw the rest of the head. First draw a small circle on either side of Omega's face mask. On the left side, draw an angled line from the small circle to the top of the face mask. Draw another angled line on the right to create the other side of the helmet. Add an angled line at the top of each of the small circle for extra detail on the helmet. Darken the line between the "horns" using angled lines to finish Omega's helmet.

Step 18: On the lower, left side of the head, draw a couple of angled lines for Omega's armor. The angled line overlaps the top part of the torso, then curves back up toward the helmet. The line on the right also overlaps a bit of the torso but is much wider. At the top, draw an angled line from the helmet to the shoulder to complete that part of the armor.

 

Step 19: Draw a small circle on the bottom edge of the guide for the shoulder on the right. Now darken the edges of the circle to create the shape of Omega's shoulder pad. Make the bottom pointier and the left edge of the shoulder pad wider. Inside the shape, near the left side, draw two curved, parallel lines for the glowing strip.

Step 20: Darken the shape below Omega's shoulder but make the bottom edge angle inward more. Draw two parallel line near the left edge for the glowing strip.

 

Step 21: Use the shapes under the bicep as guides to draw Omega's forearm. Draw a small oval-like shape on the top, right side of the forearm. Darken the outer edges of the initial guides to create the shape of the forearm and wrist. Add a few angled lines inside the shape along with a small circle at the bottom as detail for the armor.

Step 22: Use the circle at the bottom as a guide to draw the fist. Darken the edge of the initial circle but make the bottom part wavier for the knuckles. Add a curved line at the top for the glove's design and a couple of lines on the left side for Omega's folded fingers.

Step 23: Draw an angled line that connects the armor at the top and forms the top edge of the chest plate. In the space between the head and the chest plate, draw a few short lines for the neck muscles. Now add a couple more angles lines across the chest for the bottom edge of the chest plate. Draw a couple of small squares near the top of Omega's chest plate for more of the armor's glowing parts.

 

Step 24: Use the shapes under the chest plate as guides to draw Omega's torso. Darken the outer edges of the initial guides to create the shape of the torso. Make the bottom part narrower. Add a couple of small circles near the bottom edge of the torso for more of the armor's glowing sections.

Step 25: Draw the detail of Omega's armor inside the torso using a series of angled lines. On the top, right side of the torso, draw a couple of angled, parallel lines for a glowing strip. Near the middle of the torso, draw a series of angled lines for the abdominal armor. This part of the armor basically consists of a series of short, horizontal lines that resemble abs. Add a couple of short, angled lines on the top, left side of the torso for another glowing strip.

 

Step 26: Darken the shapes on the top, left side to create the other shoulder and bicep. Make the bottom edges of these shapes a bit pointier and add a line inside Omega's bicep for extra detail.

Step 27: Darken the initial guide to create the shape of Omega's forearm and wrist. Add a few angled lines inside the shape for detail on the armor. Add an angled line at the bottom for the elbow pad. Use the circle at the end as a guide to draw the fist. Darken the shape of the circle but make the left edge wavier for the knuckles. Draw an oval- like shape at the top for the thumb. Inside the shape, draw a series of curved lines for Omega's folded fingers. Don't overlap the thumb at the top as you're drawing the folded fingers.

Step 28: Draw a small, angled shape on the top, right side of Omega's leg for the armor. The bottom part of this shape should be round and dip down low. Add another angled line on the left side for the armor on the inner thigh. Inside the shape on the right, draw a couple of thin, angled lines for more of the glowing strips.

 

Step 29: Darken the circle in the middle of the leg on the right side but make the edges more angled for the knee pad. Add a few angled lines inside the knee pad to emphasize the blocky shape. Darken the guides above the knee pad to create the shape of Omega's leg.

Step 30: Darken the guides under the knee pad to create the rest of Omega's leg and foot. Make the middle section angle up toward the knee pad a bit more, and then darken the shin portion of the guides. Darken the lowest shape to create the foot but draw an extra line at the bottom for the shoe's sole.

 

Step 31: Use the shapes on the left side as guides to first draw the top part of the leg. Draw a couple of angled lines inside the shape for the edges of the armor. Darken the sides of the guides to create the rest of Omega's leg's shape.

 

Step 32: Draw a small oval-like shape on the left side of the guides in the middle to create the other knee pad. Add a few angled lines inside the knee pad to emphasize the blocky shape. Darken the shape under the knee pad using angled lines to create more of the blocky armor. To create the rest of the leg and foot, simply darken the initial guides. Add an extra line to the bottom of the foot to create Omega's shoe sole.

Step 33: For a more finished look, carefully go over the final sketch lines with a pen or marker.

Step 34: After inking, get rid of every pencil mark with an eraser.

 

Final Step: Color your Omega drawing using color pencils, markers or crayons! Use yellow-orange for the glowing strips. Use gray for the face plate to simulate the shiny armor. Now use black for the rest of the body. Apply less pressure on your pencil to get a lighter shade of black on the left side of Omega's body. This gives the figure more volume.

Apply the color lightly at first and slowly build up to the level of darkness that you like. Continue applying the black until Omega's entire body is covered. Don't overlap the glowing strips. Don't forget to pause the video after each step to draw at your own pace.
