The written step-by-step video tutorial:
Intro: Start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.
Step 1: Draw a long, curved horizontal line for the top section of the eyes on mini Iron Man's face plate.
Step 2: Now draw Iron Man's eyes by first drawing four short vertical lines directly under the long horizontal line. Now add the bottoms of the eyes by using short horizontal lines. The eyes should look like small rectangles.
Step 3: Add the top of chibi Iron Man's face plate by drawing a long vertical line on either side of the horizontal line. Add two short horizontal lines at the top but leave a wide gap in the middle. In the gap, draw two vertical lines that come down toward the eyes and one horizontal line at the bottom.
Step 4: Now add the bottom part of Iron Man's face plate by first drawing a short diagonal line next to each eye. Now draw a longer, curved diagonal line on either side. These lines should point inward at the bottom. Draw a short, diagonal line pointing up on either side and a horizontal line to close the gap in the middle.
Step 5: Now add the head by first drawing four small marks around the face plate. Draw a line on each side, top and bottom. Pay close attention to the distance from the lines to the face plate. Now connect these short lines using a series of curved lines to complete the shape of the head. As you draw the shape of the head, keep the lines close to the face plate. Don't draw them too far way. Iron Man's head will be tilted down slightly, so the top part should be a bit wider than the bottom.
Step 6: Add a few more lines within the head for extra detail on the helmet. You can actually stop here if you just want a quick mini Iron Man head/helmet.
Step 7: On the lower, right side of the head, draw a small, wide circle for the palm of the hand. Don't draw the circle too close to chibi Iron Man's head. Their edges shouldn't touch.
Step 8: At the top of the small circle, draw three short arcs for Iron Man's fingers. On the left side, draw a shorter arc for the thumb.
Step 9: In the middle of the palm, draw a small circle for the repulsor blast. Add a curved line above and below the hand for the rest of Iron Man's extended arm and shoulder behind it.
Step 10: Below the head, draw a circle for the arc reactor on mini Iron Man's chest. Don't draw the reactor directly below the middle of the head. Draw it slightly off to the left. Using a couple of curved lines, add the shoulder pads on either side of the head.
Step 11: Draw the chest plate section of the armor below the reactor. Chibi Iron Man's chest plate consists of a diagonal line on either side joined by a horizontal line below the reactor.
Step 12: Below the chest, draw a small square-like shape with a line through the middle for Iron Man's torso armor.
Step 13: Using a series of diagonal lines, draw the sides of Iron Man's torso armor. The lines for the side armor should line up with the lines for the middle armor.
Step 14: Using a few short, angled lines, draw the lowest part of Iron Man's torso. This section should look like underpants but with angled lines. Don't draw this section too far below the abs.
Step 15: On the upper, left side of the body, draw a couple of curved lines for the top part of Iron Man's other arm.
Step 16: Draw a few short lines below the previous lines for the forearm. Add a semi-circle underneath for Iron Man's curled up fist.
Step 17: Add the leg on the left by first drawing two short vertical lines. Now add the foot pointing toward the left using a few more short lines.
Step 18: Add Iron Man's other leg the same way. Start with short vertical lines. This foot is poining forward, so draw it using diagonal lines on the sides and a horizontal line at the bottom.
Step 19: Add a few more lines within the legs for extra detail on the armor. Use angled lines as opposed to curved lines to represent mini Iron Man's rigid metal armor. This armor consists of an angled line inside each foot and and angled line inside each leg.
Step 20: Using a pen or marker, carefully go over the lines to make your chibi Iron Man drawing permanent. After inking, get rid of every pencil mark with an eraser.
Final Step: Color your mini Iron Man drawing using color pencils, markers or even crayons! Use red for the body except for the face plate, arms and legs. Add some brown on top of the red for more volume. Use yellow for the rest of the body. Add some red-orange on top of it for highlights. Use a bit of light blue on the outer edges of Iron Man's eyes and the reactors. Don't forget to pause the video to draw at your own pace.
