The written step-by-step video tutorial:

 

Intro: Start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.

 

Step 1: Draw two diagonal lines for mini Captain America's eyebrows. Make these lines thick and don't draw them too close together. The two lines should look the same, except they should be mirror images of each other. Sketch lighly at first so that it's easy to erase if you make a mistake. Darken the lines when you get them right.

 

Step 2: Under each eyebrow, draw two curved lines for the sides of Captain America's eyes. These lines should be short and curved, similar to parantheses (). Make these lines thick so that they represent eyelashes.

 

Step 3: Under each of Cap A's eyes, draw a small half- circle for the irises. Try to make both irises the same size. The half-circles should be almost as big as the eyes.

 

Step 4: Inside each iris, near the top, left side, draw a tiny circle to represent glare. In the middle of each iris, draw a big dot for the pupil. The top part of the pupils should touch mini Captain America's eyebrows.

 

Step 5: Draw the mask's eye holes by first drawing a line over each eyebrow. Then draw a long curved line around each eye at the bottom. Follow the basic shape of chibi Captain America's eyes as you draw the holes. The inner edge of each of the eye holes, at the top, should be a bit pointy.

Step 6: Below Captain America's eyes, draw V-shaped line for the nose. Below that, to the left, draw a short curved line for the mouth.

 

Step 7: Draw the bottom part of Captain America's head by first making a small mark below the mouth. Then draw a vertical line on either side of the eyes. Notice how far up they go. Don't draw them too short. Now connect the lines on the sides to the small mark at the bottom using curved lines. Try to draw the sides similarly for symmetry.

 

Step 8: On the top, left side of the head , draw an angled line similar to the letter L for the wings on mini Captain America's mask. Add a short diagonal line to complete the triangle-like shape. Draw another triangle-like shape on the top right side for the other wing. Add two small lines inside each shape for the feathers on the wings.

 

Step 9: Add the top part of chibi Captain America's head by first drawing a small mark high above the eyes. Then attach the wings to the small mark using curved lines to finish the shape of the head. Draw a small arc below the eyes that surrounds the nose and mouth for the mask's opening.

 

Step 10: Draw the big A on Captain America's head by first drawing two short horizontal lines next to each other. Then draw two long diagonal lines for the sides of the letter A. Add the top using another horizontal line and the inner part of the "legs" using shorter diagonal lines. Add another short horizontal line in the middle for the crossbar and a small triangle at the top to finish it.

Step 11: Draw mini Captain America's shield as a circle on the lower, right side of the head. First draw four small marks to indicate the height and width of the circle, then connect the marks using curved lines. If you're having a hard time drawing the circle, trace the outer rim of a coin, a button or any other object with a circular edge.

 

Step 12: Draw two more circles inside the shield to complete its design. Captain America's actual shield has three rings inside, but we're simplifying and only drawing two. Remember to trace the edge of round object like a coin or bottle cap if you have a hard time drawing circles.

 

Step 13: Inside Captain America's shield, in the smallest circle, draw a big star that's made up of a series of short lines. Drawing the star can be a bit tricky, so be sure to pause the video after each stroke to get the shape right.

 

Step 14: On the left side, draw a curved line for mini Captain America's arm. Curl the bottom tip so that it's almost a circle for the fist. The resulting shape should look similar to the number 6, only slightly tilted.

 

Step 15: Draw the body by first drawing a long, curved vertical line on the left side. Add a curved horizontal line at the bottom and another curved line on the upper right side for Captain America's other arm.

Step 16: Draw the first leg on the lower right side of the body. The top part of the leg is made up of two curved lines. Chibi Captain America's foot should be flat and pointy on the sides.

 

Step 17: Draw the leg on the right the same way. Use curved lines for the top part and make the bottom edge flat.

 

Step 18: Draw a small star right below Captain America's head. Remember to pause the video as you draw along to get the shape of the star right. Under the star, draw two long horizontal lines for the uniform's design. The lower line should almost touch the bottom edge of Cap A's body.

 

Step 19: Add a few more short lines inside chibi Captain America's body to complete the design of the uniform. Draw one on the arm for the glove, one on each leg for the boots and five on the torso for the stripes.

 

Step 20: Using a pen or marker, carefully go over the lines to make your drawing permanent. After inking, get rid of every pencil mark with an eraser.

 

Final Step: Color your Captain America drawing using color pencils, markers or even crayons! To get a gradient effect on the eyes, color the top parts dark blue and the bottom parts light blue. Use blue for the main part of the uniform and on the innermost circle of the shield. Use peach for the skin. Using the peach color, draw the bottom edges of the eyes. Leave the inside blank. Use red for the gloves, boots, the stripes on the torso and the outermost circle on the shield.
