How to Draw Spider-Man (Mini)

Intro: Start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.
Step 1: Draw two curved, diagonal lines for the top part of mini Spider-Man's eyes. The two lines should look the same, except they should be mirror images of each other. The eyes on Spider- Man's mask have thick outlines, so make these lines thick. Make the line on the right as thick as the line on the left. Keep them looking the same. Pay attention to the distance between the lines. Don't place them too far apart.
Step 2: Use a couple of curved lines under the previous lines to complete the shape of mini Spider-Man's eyes. Remember to make the eyes look like mirror images of each other. Make the lines thicker and darker to match the top part of the eyes. The bottom part of the eyes are similar in shape to a tilted letter U. Take your time as you draw the eyes to get the shapes right. Sketch lightly at first so that you can erase if you don't get the shape of the eyes correct right away.
Step 3: Draw the head by first sketching a short vertical line on the outer edge of each eye. Now draw a short horizontal line above the eyes. Pay attention to the distance between the eyes and this line. Use a couple of curved lines to connect the sides with the line at the top to form the top of chibi Spider-Man's head. Remember to sketch lightly so that you can erase if you don't get the shape right at first. To draw the bottom part of the head, first make a small line at the bottom. Then connect that line to the sides using curved lines. Spidey's head should basically be a circle. The bottom of the head should be closer to the eyes than the top part.
Step 4: Draw Spider-Man's webbing on the mask by first drawing a vertical line across the head. Now draw a horizontal line but don't overlap the eyes. This line is basically a broken line on the sides of the eyes.
Step 5: Now draw the second part of the webbing by drawing a big X across mini Spider-Man's face. As you draw the X, make sure that the head is divided in more or less equal pieces.
Step 6: Finish the webbing on the top part of Spidey's head by drawing three small, curved lines within each triangular division. Draw the middle curved line first, then add the top and bottom curved line. The curved lines at the top should be tilted, and the curved lines on the sides should almost be vertical.
Step 7: Draw the webbing on the bottom part of mini Spider-Man's head using three short, curved lines inside each division too. Start with the line in the middle, then add the top and bottom lines.
Step 8: Draw two short, curved diagonal lines on the lower right side of the head for Spider-Man's first arm. At the end of the lines, at the bottom, draw a circle-like shape.
Step 9: Below Spidey's head, on the left side, draw a curved, vertical line for the first part of the body. Then draw a curved horizontal line at the bottom and another vertical line on the right side to finish the body.
Step 10: Draw a curved line on the left side for Spidey's other arm. Add the circle-like fist at the bottom. The inner, top part of this arm will be hidden behind the body.
Step 11: Draw two short, almost vertical lines on the lower, right side of the body for mini Spider-Man's first leg. The foot consists of tiny lines on the sides and a short horizontal line for the bottom.
Step 12: Draw Spider-Man's other leg on the lower, left side of the body the same way. This foot is pointing to the left, so make the side pointier.
Step 13: Draw a short curved line in each arm and in each leg for Spidey's gloves and boots.
Step 14: Draw mini Spider-Man's belt-like design by first drawing two curved horizontal lines that come to a point across the belly. Add two more lines at the top but make sure to leave a big gap in the middle. These lines should NOT meet.
Step 15: Now draw two curved, diagonal lines from mini Spider-Man's shoulders to the lines on the belly.
Step 16: Draw a small oval on the chest and shade it in for the first part of Spider-Man's logo. On the top part of the oval, draw four tiny lines (two on each side) that curve up for the spider's first legs. Draw four more tiny lines on the lower half of the oval but curve them down this time.
Step 17: Draw a series of vertical lines within the design on the body for the first part of the webbing. Don't add too many lines. Two on either side of mini Spider-Man's "belt" and three long ones across the chest should be good.
Step 18: Add a few more vertical lines inside Spidey's gloves and boots for more webbing. Again, don't draw too many lines. Two lines inside each glove and boot should be good.
Step 19: Inside the design on the body, between the vertical lines, draw a series of tiny curved horizontal lines. First draw a row of them across the middle of the "belt." Then continue drawing them up toward Spidey's head. It's okay to overlap the spider logo. Remember, don't overdo it with these lines. Separate them enough so that you don't have to add too many.
Step 20: Draw the short horizontal lines on chibi Spider-Man's gloves and boots as well. For the gloves, add three of these lines between each vertical line. For the boots, add two short horizontal lines between each vertical line.
Step 21: Using a pen or marker, carefully go over the lines to make your mini Spider-Man drawing permanent. After inking, get rid of every pencil mark with an eraser.
Final Step: Color your mini Spider-Man using color pencils, markers or even crayons! Use red for the sections of the costume that have webbing. Be careful to not color into the eyes. Color the remaining sections blue. Don't forget to pause the video to draw at your own pace.
