Intro: Start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.
Step 1: Start by drawing a big circle on the top left of the page to leave space for Venom's tongue. This will be the basic shape for Venom’s head.
Step 2: Next, draw a line in the shape of a letter V below the circle for Venom's jaw. Flatten out the bottom of the V shape a little. Draw a vertical line that splits theses shapes in half. This will be a construction line that will help you place Venom’s features later on.
Step 3: Inside the circle and on either side of the vertical line, draw a triangle shape with rounded sides. The easiest way to do this is by drawing a big X inside the circle then simply closing the sides of the X with curved lines. These are basic shapes for Venom's huge, creepy eyes.
Step 4: Below the circle, draw another V-shape inside the jaw for Venom's mouth. Inside this shape start from the vertical construction line and draw a wavy line toward the right. This will be Venom's disgusting tongue; you can make it as long and wavy as you want.
Step 5: That's it for the initial sketch of Venom from Spider-Man! You have the basic Venom shape, so now go in and tighten your drawing. From this point on, press harder with your pencil in order to get darker lines and a more defined sketch.
Step 6: Use the initial shapes as guides to draw his eyes. Don’t be too precise here. Just draw squiggly as you follow the guide line.
Step 7: Draw the top of Venom's mouth by using the bottom part of the circle as a guide. Make the line curve upward in the middle.
Step 8: Add Venom's razor sharp teeth by drawing many thin triangle-like shapes. Make them different sizes and overlap some of them but be sure to draw the ones on the sides a bit smaller and shorter. Also add a way line in the top middle for his gums.
Step 9: Use the initial line as a guide to draw Venom's tongue. Make it thick at the base and have it come to a point at the end. Leave some room on the left side for his lower teeth.
Step 10: Darken the lower part of Venom's mouth and add a row of sharp teeth like you did before. Don’t draw the teeth that are hidden behind his tongue and remember to draw the teeth on the sides smaller than those in front.
Step 11: Finish up Venom by darkening his head and jaw. Be sure to bulge out the line below the main circle to indicate his strong jaw.
Step 12: That’s it! You now have a nice sketch of Venom. from Spider-Man You can stop at this quick drawing for a rough, sketchy look or go for a more finished look by continuing to the step below.
Step 13: For a more finished, inked look, carefully draw over the final sketch lines with a pen or marker. Wait for the ink to dry, and then get rid of every pencil mark with an eraser. You now have a finished inked drawing of Venom from Spider-Man! You can stop here or go to the final step to complete your Venom drawing.
Final Step: For a completely finished Venom drawing, you have to color it. You can use markers, color pencils or even crayons! Color Venom's head black, his gums pink, the inside of his mouth dark red or brown and his tongue pink. You can add extra detail to Venom's head by adding some blue on the left side to create a shiny effect. Start with a light blue and keep adding darker hues of blue until you get to black and blend it in with the rest of the mask. You can do the same thing with his tongue for a slimy, slobbery feel! That’s it! You now have a completed drawing of Venom from Spider-Man.
