Use the video and step-by-step drawing instructions below to learn how to draw Beast Boy from Teen Titans. A new cartoon drawing tutorial is uploaded every week, so stay tooned!

 

 

Intro: Start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.

 

Step 1: Start by drawing a circle in the middle of the page. The circle doesn’t have to be perfect. It’s just a guide for Beast Boy's head.

 

Step 2: Next, draw two intersecting lines across the circle, one vertical and one horizontal. Bend the lines a bit so that they contour to the shape of the head. These will be construction lines that will help you place Beast Boy's facial features later on.

 

Step 3: Draw two small ovals as guides for Beast Boy's eyes. Draw them sitting on top of the horizontal construction line and on either side of the vertical construction line. The oval on the left should be a bit smaller because of perspective.

 

Step 4: Under the horizontal construction line, draw a big shape similar to the letter D on its side as a guide for Beast Boy's mouth.

 

Step 5: On either side of the head, draw a couple of lines as guides for the ears. The lines should curve and form a point at the top. Beast Boy has big ears, so draw the shapes big.

Step 6: That’s it for the initial sketch! You have the basic Beast Boy shape, so now go in and tighten your drawing. From this point on, press harder with your pencil in order to get darker lines and a more defined sketch.

 

Step 7: Use the initial oval shapes as guides to draw the outline of Beast Boy's eyes. Follow the basic path of the ovals but make the shapes angle a bit more. The eye on the right should be a bit flatter to give him a silly look. Use a thicker line at the top to represent the eyelashes.

 

Step 8: Inside each eye, draw a circle for the irises. Inside each iris, in the middle, draw another circle and shade it in for the pupils. Draw a tiny circle inside each of Beast Boy's eyes, off to the side, to represent glare.

 

Step 9: Draw a thick, angled shape on top of each eye and shade it in for Beast Boy's eyebrows. The shape of the eyebrows should come to a point on each of the sides. The eye on the left should be higher up over the eye than the one on the right to give Beast Boy a playful and mischievous look.

 

Step 10: Draw Beast Boy's nose under the eyes. Use the construction lines to help you with placement. The nose consists of a long curved line to the left of the vertical construction line and a couple of smaller curved lines underneath for the nostrils. Add another curved line at the top for the furrowed brow.

Step 11: Use the initial sideways D shape as a guide to draw Beast Boy's mouth. First darken the outline of the shape. Then inside the shape, at the top, add a curved line for the top teeth. Add the bottom teeth at the bottom too but add a curved spike on the right side for his fang. Draw a curved line in the middle for Beast Boy's tongue.

 

Step 12: Draw Beast Boy's face by using the main oval as a guide. Follow the basic path of the oval but make the line come inward more toward the eye on the left side to create the cheek. Make the line pointier at the bottom for the chin. Add two small lines under the head for the chin.

 

Step 13: Use the shapes on either side of the head as guides to draw Beast Boy's ears. Darken the outline of the shapes but make them pointier. Add a few lines within the ears for the inner structure.

 

Step 14: Follow the basic path of the main circle to draw Beast Boy's hairline. Make the line jagged as you darken it. The line should move down and end on the right side where the ear is.

 

 

Step 15: Draw the top part of Beast Boy's hair above the main circle. The top part of the hair consists of a line that starts on the left side of the face, moves up over the head, has a few jagged peaks for the spiky hair, and then comes down and ends on the right side next to the ear.

Step 16: That’s it! You now have a nice sketch of Beast Boy from Teen Titans. You can stop at this quick drawing for a rough, sketchy look or go for a more finished look by continuing to the step below.

 

Step 17: For a more finished, inked look, carefully draw over the final sketch lines with a pen or marker. Wait for the ink to dry, and then get rid of every pencil mark with an eraser. You now have a finished inked drawing of Beast Boy! You can stop here or go to the final step to complete your Beast Boy drawing.

 

Final Step: For a completely finished Beast Boy drawing, you have to color it. You can use markers, color pencils or even crayons! Beast Boy's hair and eyes are green. His skin is yellow-green. The inside of his mouth is brown, and his tongue is pink. That’s it! You now have a completed drawing of Beast Boy from Teen Titans.
