Intro: Start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.
Step 1: Start by drawing an oval at the top of the page. It doesn’t have to be perfect. It’s just a guide for Tweety Bird’s head.
Step 2: Inside the oval, draw a vertical line that splits the shape in half. Draw this line so it follows the contour of the oval (i.e., bends slightly) and extends a tiny bit outside the oval. This is a construction line that will help you place Tweety Bird’s features later on.
Step 3: Below the main oval, draw a shape similar to a letter C on its side. This is a guide for the lower part of Tweety Bird's head.
Step 4: Inside the main oval and on either side of the vertical construction line, draw two long ovals as guides for Tweety Bird's eyes. They should sit right above the bottom part of the oval.
Step 5: Directly below the oval, draw an even smaller oval as a guide for Tweety Bird's beak.
Step 6: Draw two small circles stacked up on each other as a guide for Tweety Bird's body. They should look like a snowman. Connect the circles to this Looney Tunes character's head with a small line.
Step 7: Draw a long diagonal line going up on the left side of the body and also draw an angled line going down on the right side of his body. These will be guides for Tweety Bird's arms. At the end of each line draw a circle as guides for Tweety's hands.
Step 8: Below Tweety Bird's body draw two parallel vertical lines as guides for his short legs. Under each line draw an oval-like shape as a guide for Tweety's big feet.
Step 9: That’s it for the initial sketch! You have the basic Tweety Bird shape, so now go in and tighten your drawing. From this point on, press harder with your pencil in order to get darker lines and a more defined sketch.
Step 10: Darken the shape of Tweety Bird’s eyes and give them a small bump at the bottom. Above each eye draw three long curved lines for his eyelashes. Inside each eye draw another oval for his iris, and inside each iris draw and shade in another oval for Tweety Bird's pupils.
Step 11: Draw Tweety Bird's beak using the oval as a guide. Darken the top part of the oval and draw a wavy line to create the top part of the beak. Then draw a small curved line underneath and within the oval for the lower part of this Looney Tunes character's beak. Draw a curve on the right side for Tweety's cheek.
Step 12: Use the main shapes as guides to draw the rest of Tweety Bird's head. Draw small curved lines above Tweety's eyes for his eyebrows and three long curved lines above his head for his hair.
Step 13: Draw two lines below the head create Tweety Bird's neck. Then thicken the guide line to create his bent arm. Use the circle at the end of the line as a guide to draw Tweety's fingers at his hip.
Step 14: Connect the two circles using lines on either side to create Tweety Bird's body. Draw some curved lines underneath to represent the bases of his legs. On the right side of Tweety's body, where his hand is, draw two lines that meet at a point for his tail.
Step 15: Draw the left arm by thickening the guide. Draw a few curved lines outside of the circle at the end of the line to create Tweety Bird's open palm and fingers.
Step 16: Using the line and oval as a guide, draw the right foot. Thicken the line for the leg and give the foot a sleeker shape. Draw a curved line at the end to create Tweety Bird's toes.
Step 17: Draw the left foot using the same technique as the right foot. Don’t forget to draw Tweety Bird's toes!
Step 18: That’s it! You now have a nice sketch of Tweety Bird from Looney Tunes. You can stop at this quick drawing for a rough, sketchy look or go for a more finished look by continuing to the step below.
Step 19: For a more finished, inked look, carefully draw over the final sketch lines with a pen or marker. Wait for the ink to dry, and then get rid of every pencil mark with an eraser. You now have a finished inked drawing of Tweety Bird from Looney Tunes! You can stop here or go to the final step to complete your Tweety Bird drawing.
Final Step: For a completely finished Tweety Bird drawing, you have to color it. You can use markers, color pencils and even crayons! Color his body yellow and his eyes blue. His beak and his feet are orange. That’s it! You now have a completed drawing of Tweety Bird from the Looney Tunes.
