Intro: Start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages of learning how to draw Wreck-It Ralph, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.
Step 1: Start by drawing an circle near the middle of the page. This will be the basic shape for the top of Ralph's head. It doesn’t have to be perfect. It’s just a guide.
Step 2: Under the circle, draw a big arc as a guide for Ralph's jaw and chin. The length of this arc should be about half the size of the circle.
Step 3: Next, draw two intersecting lines across the entire head shape, one vertical and one horizontal. Bend the lines so that they contour to the shape. These will be construction lines that will help you when learning how to draw Wreck-It Ralph's facial features later on.
Step 4: Draw two small ovals as guides for Ralph's eyes. Draw them sitting on top of the horizontal construction line and on either side of the vertical construction line. The ovals should be pretty close together.
Step 5: In the space between the horizontal construction line and the bottom of the main circle, draw a big oval as a guide for Ralph's nose. The oval should be almost as wide as the two eyes combined.
Step 6: Draw two arcs on either side of the head as a guide for Ralph's ears. The arcs should be similar to the letter C and should be placed near the ends of the horizontal construction line.
Step 7: That’s it for the initial sketch! You have the basic shape of Ralph from Walt Disney's Wreck-It Ralph. Now go in and tighten your drawing. When learning how to draw Wreck-It Ralph from this point on, press harder with your pencil in order to get darker lines and a more defined sketch.
Step 8: Now learn how to draw Wreck-It Ralph's facial features. First use the big oval as a guide to draw Ralph's nose. Simply darken the edge of the oval and draw a couple of curved lines on the lower left and right for the nostrils.
Step 9: Darken the sides of the small ovals to create Ralph's eyes. Above each oval, draw a small line for the eyelids. Draw a few lines under each eye and on the right side of the left eye for structure.
Step 10: Inside each eye, draw a small circle for Wreck-It Ralph's irises. Inside each iris, draw a dot for the pupils. On the top right side of each iris, draw a tiny circle to represent the glare in Ralph's eyes.
Step 11: Above each eye, draw a long shape for Ralph's eyebrows. The eyebrows should have a diagonal orientation that points toward the nose to give Ralph a furrowed brow. When drawing the shapes of the eyebrows, use quick, short strokes for a hairy texture.
Step 12: Now learn how to draw Wreck-It Ralph's mouth. Under the main circle, draw a long, narrow shape for his mouth. The top left side of the mouth grazes the edge of the main circle for a tilted smirk.
Step 13: On the left side of the mouth, draw an angled line for the smile line. Inside Ralph's mouth, draw a couple of lines on the sides to give and indication of the teeth.
Step 14: Use the original circle and arc under it as guides to draw Wreck-It Ralph's face. Follow the basic path of the lines but make the top right side narrower and closer to the right eye. Ralph has a big jaw, so make the bottom part wider.
Step 15: Now learn how to draw Wreck-It Ralph's hair. His hair can be a little tricky, so it's divided into three steps. First draw the hair line high above the eyes using a series of quick, short strokes to give it the right texture. The hair line should go across Ralph's head, and then move down toward the left near the ear. Draw a bunch of small spikes on the sides of the head near the ears to create Ralph's bushy sideburns.
Step 16: Darken the guides on the sides of Ralph's head to create the ears before continuing on with the hair. Draw a few lines within the shape of the ears for the inner structure.
Step 17: Draw the top left side of Ralph's hair using a series of long curved lines. The hair should consist of thick clumps instead of individual hair strands. The tips of the clumps should be spiky. Notice how the tips of the hair follow the basic path of the main circle. Draw a few lines within the clumps of hair for more detail on this Wreck-It Ralph character's hair.
Step 18: Finish up Ralph's hair by drawing the top right side. Remember to section off the hair into clumps with spiky ends. Draw a few lines inside the clumps for extra detail.
Step 19: That’s it! You now have a nice sketch of Ralph from Walt Disney's animated feature, Wreck-It Ralph. You can stop at this quick drawing for a rough, sketchy look or go for a more finished look by continuing to the step below.
Step 20: For a more finished, inked look, carefully draw over the final sketch lines with a pen or marker. Wait for the ink to dry, and then get rid of every pencil mark with an eraser. You now have a finished inked drawing of Ralph! You can stop here or go to the final step to complete your Ralph drawing.
Final Step: For a completely finished Ralph drawing, you have to color it. You can use markers, color pencils or even crayons! Color Ralph's hair and eyebrows brown. His eyes are light brown. His skin is peach, but if you don't have peach improvise and use yellow-orange or light brown. Experiment! Ralph's nose and his cheeks are pink. That’s it! You now have a completed drawing of Ralph from Walt Disney's Wreck-It Ralph.
