Intro: Start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.

 

Step 1: Draw a square as a guide for the enderman's head. Start the square by first drawing two short horizontal lines. Then close the square by drawing two short vertical lines on the sides. Sketch the square lightly at first and only darken the lines when you get the shape right. If you want straighter lines or want a perfect square, you can use a ruler.

 

Step 2: Draw two intersecting lines inside the enderman's head, one vertical and one horizontal. These are construction lines that will help you place the facial features later. The lines should divide the square into more or less equal parts.

 

Step 3: Draw a rectangle under the head as a guide for the body. First make a mark below the head to indicate the length of the rectangle. Then draw the sides of the enderman's body using vertical lines directly under the sides of the head. Finally draw a short horizontal line for the bottom of the body.

 

Step 4: Draw two diagonal lines on the sides of the body as guides for the arms. Sketch the lines lightly at first. When you get them right, make them darker. Use a ruler if you're having trouble getting the lines right. The left line should start at the top left corner of the body, the right somewhere around the middle of the right side. Endermen have long, skinny arms, so make these guide lines long too.

 

Step 5: Draw a block for the enderman to carry. First draw two short diagonal lines, then close the top of the shape with two more short lines. Pay attention to the size and shape of this square in relation to the arms.

Step 6: Now draw the left side of the enderman's block using three more short lines. The leftmost line should be parallel to the sides of the previous square.

 

Step 7: Close the top part of the block using two more short lines.

 

Step 8: Draw two long parallel lines under the enderman's body as guides for the legs. These lines should be pretty close together under the middle of the body. The length of these lines should be more than the length of the body and head combined.

 

That's it for the guides. For the next steps, use darker lines for a more finished drawing.

 

Step 9: Use the initial square as a guide to draw the shape of the enderman's head. Simply follow the path of the square as you darken the lines.

Step 10: Draw the enderman's eyes as tiny rectangles inside the head. Use the construction lines as guides for the placement and size of the eyes. The outer sides of the eyes should touch the sides of the head. There should be a small gap between the eyes. Draw two tiny lines in the middle of each eye for the pupils.

 

Step 11: Use the long diagonal line on the left as a guide to draw the enderman's arm. Follow the path of that guide as you make the arm thicker. The shape of the arms is basically a really long and thin rectangle. Sketch the shape of the arm lightly at first as you follow the path of the guide. When you get the shape of the arm right, darken the lines. Use a ruler if you need it. Add another long line along the middle of the arm to make it blockier. Or you can just use the guide line for this.

 

Step 12: Use the initial cube as a guide to draw the block the enderman is holding. Follow the shape of the guide as you darken the lines but don't overlap the lines for the arm on the left.

 

Step 13: Darken the rectangle under the head to create the enderman's body. Add a vertical line on the left to make it blockier.

 

Step 14: Use the diagonal line on the right as a guide to draw the enderman's other arm. Widen the shape of the arm by adding a parallel line on either side of the guide.

Step 15: Use the line under the body, on the left side, as a guide to draw the enderman's first leg. Draw a parallel line on either side of the guide to make the shape of the leg thicker. The guide line in the middle makes the shape more three-dimensional.

 

Step 16: Draw the other leg using the last line as a guide the same way as the first one. Remember to use a ruler if you want your line to be straighter.

 

Step 17: Carefully go over the final sketch lines with a pen or marker.

 

Step 18: When the ink dries, erase all the pencil marks.

 

Final Step: Use purple and pink to draw a couple of star-like shapes around the body and for the eyes. Color the rest of the enderman's body black but try not to overlap any stars on the body. Color the block any color you want. For a grass block, color the top part green and the bottom part brown.
