To draw the Rainbow Smash pickaxe from Fortnite step by step, follow the step-by-step drawings below. The new lines in each step are shown in red, and each step is explained in the text below the photo, so you'll know exactly what to draw in each step. Take your time and draw at your own pace.

 

Intro: Start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.

 

 

Step 1: Draw a small circle near the top, right side of the page as a guide for the top part of the Rainbow Smash pickaxe that looks like a unicorn head. If you're struggling to draw the circle, just trace the outer rim of a small, circular object like a coin or a lid.

 

Step 2: To the right of the circle, draw an angled line for the muzzle on the Rainbow Smash unicorn's head. The top line should be sloping, the side should be straight and vertical, and the bottom should be short and horizontal. Draw a long, sloping line across the entire head as a guide to help you place the Rainbow Smash pickaxe's facial features later.

Step 3: On the top, right side of the circle, draw a long, triangular shape as a guide for the Rainbow Smash unicorn's horn.

 

Step 4: Below the circle, draw a square-like shape as a guide for Rainbow Smash's neck that's at the top of this Fortnite pickaxe. The lines on the sides should curve a bit, and the line at the bottom should be flat and sloping.

Step 5: Draw a big, curved shape to the left of the head as a guide for Rainbow Smash's mane. This guide starts with a straight line at the top of the unicorn's head. The line then curves to the left and ends on the left side of the neck.

Step 6: Below the head, draw a long, sloping line as a guide for the Rainbow Smash pickaxe handle. Pay attention to how long this line is in relation to the rest of the Rainbow Smash's head. At the bottom of the line, draw a small circle for the wheel. This Fortnite pickaxe is really a children's toy stick horse — also called a hobby horse — and not truly a pickaxe.

 

That's it for the Rainbow Smash pickaxe guides! For the next steps, use darker lines for a more defined drawing of this Fortnite pickaxe.

Step 7: Inside Rainbow Smash's head, on the top, right side and above the horizontal construction line, draw a small circle for the unicorn's eye. Inside the eye, add a dot for the pupil.

 

Step 8: On top of the Rainbow Smash pickaxe head, draw a thin, rectangular shape for the unicorn's ear. Notice how the shape curves to the right. The bottom is wide, and the top is narrow.

Step 9: To the left of Rainbow Smash's eye, draw a thin, sloping, rectangular shape for the leather strip of the headgear called the bridle. The top of this strip should be to the left of the ear and should be wide. On the right, add a similar shape but smaller for another section of the Rainbow Smash's bridle. The two strips should almost touch in the middle. Use the initial construction line on this Fortnite pickaxe as a guide for the position of the unicorn's bridle.

Step 10: At the bottom of the head, draw a small, triangular shape for the final strap on the Rainbow Smash unicorn's bridle. Draw a couple of short, curved lines that connect the straps and form the bridle's ring.

 

Step 11: On the bottom of the head, draw a tiny circle inside a small circle for the bit on Rainbow Smash's bridle. To the right of the bit, draw a small, rectangular shape for the unicorn's lower jaw. At the top, draw a line for the teeth.

Step 12: Darken the outer edges of the initial guides to create the shape of the unicorn head on this Fortnite pickaxe. Don't overlap the shape of Rainbow Smash's bridle as you darken the lines.

 

Step 13: Use the initial triangular shape on top of the head as a guide to draw Rainbow Smash's unicorn horn. Darken the sides of the guide but make the sides bumpy. Inside the shape, draw a series of short, curved lines to make the spiral on the unicorn horn.

Step 14: Inside the Rainbow Smash pickaxe head, draw a series of zigzag lines to represent fur. On the unicorn's neck, draw four curved lines for a rainbow.

Step 15: Use the big, curved shape on top of he head as a guide to draw Rainbow Smash's mane. Darken the guide but add a few lines that come inward along the way to create clumps of hair on the mane. At the bottom, extend the shape of the unicorn's mane to the left a bit.

 

Step 16: Below Rainbow Smash's neck, draw a couple of small, rectangular shapes for the base on this Fortnite pickaxe. At the bottom, darken the circle to create the wheel. Add a smaller circle inside and an extra line at the top to make the shape more three-dimensional.

 

Step 17: Draw a couple of lines around the long guide in the middle to create the handle on the Rainbow Smash pickaxe. At the bottom, add a small square-like shape with a couple of curved lines on the sides for the base of the Fortnite pickaxe's wheels and the wheel on the other side.

Step 18: For a more finished-looking Rainbow Smash pickaxe from Fortnite, carefully draw over the final sketch lines with a pen or marker.

 

Step 19: After you're finished inking your Rainbow Smash pickaxe from Fortnite, get rid of every pencil mark with an eraser.

Final Step: Color your drawing of the Rainbow Smash pickaxe from Fortnite using color pencils, markers or crayons! Use pink for the mane, the wheels and the bottom part of the rainbow. Use blue-green for the unicorn head and for the base of the wheels. Use light brown with yellow for the unicorn horn and ring on the bridle. Use purple for the straps on the bridle. Use green and yellow to finish the rainbow on the Rainbow Smash's head. The pickaxe's stick or handle starts as blue-green and slowly transitions to purple, so use both colors. Now you have a completed drawing of the Rainbow Smash pickaxe from Fortnite!
