Intro: Start drawing Sora with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don't press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.

 

Step 1: To draw Kingdom Hearts' Sora, start with an egg shape in the middle of the page, which will be the basic shape for Sora's head. Draw two small lines below that shape for his neck.

 

 

Step 2: Next, draw two intersecting lines across the head shape, one vertical and one horizontal. When drawing the lines, bend them slightly so they contour to the shape of the head. These will be construction lines that will help you place Sora's features later on.

 

Step 3: Now draw the basic shape for Sora's eyes, which are two small oval shapes with flat bottoms. The eyes sit on top of the horizontal construction line on either side of the vertical construction line. Draw the eye on the left smaller because of the perspective and make it graze the vertical construction line.

 

Step 4: Draw the basic shape for Sora's nose and mouth. His nose looks like a wide arrow pointing to the left. Draw his nose sitting below the horizontal construction line and make it graze the vertical construction line at its ends. Draw the mouth right below the nose, and make it look like a long letter D on its side.

 

Step 5: That's it for the initial sketch of Sora from the Kingdom Hearts video games! You have the basic Sora shape, so now go in and tighten your drawing. From this point on, press harder with your pencil in order to get darker lines and a more defined sketch.

Step 6: Tighten the shape of Sora's eyes by drawing some extra lines for structure, eyelashes for detail and a line above each eye for his eyelids.

 

Step 7: For the inside of Sora's eyes, draw a big thick circle for his iris. Draw a smaller circle inside this one for detail and an even smaller one inside this one for his pupil and shade it in. On the top left side of each iris, draw another small circle to represent glare.

 

Step 8: Next, draw Sora's eyebrows. Above each eye, draw a long curve with a flat bottom that angles in toward the vertical construction line. Using the nose guide, tighten his nose by connecting the guide to the left eyebrow by drawing a backward S-shaped line. Draw a tiny line to the right of it for his nostril.

 

Step 9: Define Sora's smile by darkening in the initial mouth shape, but bend the mouth up more with a thicker, darker outline. On the inside of this shape on either side, draw two small horizontal lines to indicate where his teeth come together.

 

Step 10: Sora's hair is quite complex, so this section about how to draw Sora's hair is divided into three parts. Sora's hair is spiky, so draw it as angled triangles around his head. Start with the left side and draw three big spikes and a few more that come down over Sora's forehead.

Step 11: Now draw the right side of Sora's hair, which is a bit less wild but spiky nonetheless. The spikes don't stand straight up but rather come down over his head. When drawing his hair, be sure to follow the original egg shape as a guide for the hair placement.

 

Step 12: The last part to draw is the backside of Sora's hair, which will give him more dimension and volume. Draw a few spikes on the left side behind the first set and a few on the lower right side behind the second set.

 

Step 13: Tighten the shape of Sora's face by making it curve more. Draw it so it dips in on the left toward his eye and then jet out a bit for his cheek. Then make the shape come in slightly towardshis smile before going out again. Round out the bottom of the original egg shape to create Sora's chin, and finally finish drawing the line on the right where his hair is.

 

Step 14: Darken in the lines that make Sora's neck and create some shadow on his neck by shading a small portion under his chin. Sora has so much hair that you can barely see his ear, but it's there, so draw in two curves in between his hair to represent his ear.

 

Step 15: That's it! You now have a nice sketch of Sora from the Kingdom Hearts video games. You can stop at this quick drawing for a rough, sketchy look or go for a more finished look by continuing to the step below.

Step 16: For a more finished, inked look, carefully draw over the final sketch lines with a pen or marker. Wait for the ink to dry, and then get rid of every pencil mark with an eraser. You now have a finished inked drawing of Sora! You can stop here or go to the final step to complete your Sora drawing.

 

Final Step: For a completely finished Sora drawing, you have to color it. You can use markers, color pencils or even crayons! Color Sora's hair and eyebrows brown and his eyes blue. His skin is a peach color, but if you don't have peach, improvise and use yellow-orange or light brown. Experiment! That's it! You now have a completed drawing of Sora from the Kingdom Hearts video games.
