Intro: Start drawing the Black Angry Bird with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.
Step 1: Start drawing your Black Angry Bird by sketching a circle. It doesn’t have to be perfect. It will only be used as a guide for the Black Angry Bird's head/body.
Step 2: Next, draw two intersecting lines across the circle, one vertical and one horizontal. Draw the horizontal line close to the top and draw the vertical line closer to the right. When drawing the lines, bend them a bit so that they follow the contour of the circle. These will be construction lines that will help you place the Black Angry Bird's features later on.
Step 3: Draw two small circles for the Black Angry Bird’s eyes. They should sit on top of the horizontal line on either side of the construction line. Draw the right eye slightly smaller because of the perspective.
Step 4: Draw a guide for the Black Angry Bird's beak underneath the horizontal construction line. It is a trapezoid shape, similar to an upside-down triangle with the top cut off.
Step 5: That's it for the initial sketch of the Black Angry Bird! You have the basic Black Angry Bird shape, so now go in and tighten your drawing. From this point on, press harder with your pencil in order to get darker lines and a more defined sketch.
Step 6: Above each eye, draw a long thin rectangle that angles in toward the Black Angry Bird's beak a little. These will be the angry bird’s eyebrows.
Step 7: Darken in the shape of the Black Angry Bird's eyes except for the bottom part. Curve the bottom part inward to give it lower eyelids. Draw a circle inside each eye and shade them in for the pupils.
Step 8: Using the initial trapezoid as a guide, tighten the shape of the angry bird's beak. Make the top half come to a point and curve over and overlap the bottom half. Give the Black Angry Bird a small opening to the left where it shows its teeth.
Step 9: Tighten the shape of the Black Angry Bird's body by darkening it and drawing a curved thin rectangle to the top, which creates the feather that resembles a fuse. If you are not going to ink or color your Black Angry Bird drawing, add a half circle below the beak and a small circle in between the Black Angry Bird's eyes for the body pattern. If you are going to color your Black Angry Bird, you will see this pattern in the final step of this tutorial.
Step 10: That’s it! You now have a nice sketch of the Black Angry Bird. You can stop at this quick drawing for a rough, sketchy look or go for a more finished look by continuing to the step below.
Step 11: For a more finished, inked look, carefully draw over the final sketch lines with a pen or marker. Wait for the ink to dry, and then get rid of every pencil mark with an eraser. You now have a finished inked drawing of a Black Angry Bird! You can stop here or go to the final step to complete your Black Angry Bird drawing.
Final Step: For a completely finished Black Angry Bird drawing, you have to color it. You can use markers, color pencils or even crayons! Color the top of the feather and beak yellow-orange, and the Black Angry Bird's eyebrows orange. Draw a circle surrounding each eye and a big half circle under the Black Angry Bird's beak and color them gray. The rest of the body is black, but leave a small circle between the eyes without color. That’s it! You now have a completed drawing of a Black Angry Bird.
